The Technical Solutions Business Analyst is accountable for engaging internal business stakeholders, define the business objectives of project requests and propose solutions to meet the business needs within the IT application portfolio.  The business analyst will clearly document the business requirements and communicate them to the implementation teams.   Additionally the business analyst will ensure the requirements have been properly implemented by leading user acceptance testing as well as training of end users. The business analyst is the interface between technology teams, support teams, and business units.  The role requires technical acumen above and beyond a traditional business analyst.  The role will need to jump in on projects to help configure systems and it is key that the solutions proposed are driven by a sound logical thought process informed by a technical skillset and experience.

Essential Job Functions:

• Assisting with the development of the business case for requested system enhancements
• Identify and propose the best solution for business requests
• Elicit requirements from business partners
• Organization, translation, simplification of business requirements
• Requirements management and communication to IT Leadership
• Ensure projects are meeting documented requirements
• Testing of implemented solution to ensure it meets business objective via user acceptance testing
• Training of user on implemented solution
• Daily use of applications so the person can propose enhancements and is able to speak to power users intelligently about the applications functionality
• Collaborate with IT Infrastructure teams on solutions
• Own and develop relationships with the business partners
• Research for ways to deliver better value to the business customer
• Stay ahead of latest applicable technology solutions and consult with IT leadership on possible new avenues for improved business solutions

Job Requirements



Education:

Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent technical business analyst work experience.

Required Experience:

• 7+ years’ experience with proven ability to successfully develop and deploy new products and services.
• Proven experience in eliciting requirements and testing
• Experience in analyzing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualization techniques and tools
• Knowledge in generating process documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills

Preferred Experience:

• Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, SharePoint for creating and handling support tickets and documenting requirements
• Flexibility and adaptability to work on multiple tasks with changing priorities
• Use of Planview, Innotas or similar PPM solutions
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills in a team-based development environment

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Some technical knowledge of database concepts, programming languages
• Use of Jira, Confluence, SharePoint
• Microsoft Office, Visio
• Business Intelligence Reporting
• Managing requirements in a software application
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and negotiations skills.
• Extremely cordial telephone communications and customer service skills.
• Immense accuracy and attention to detail. High organizational skills.
• Able to retain multiple set of instructions, set priorities and meet deadlines
• Understands the workflow and process requirements of complex application systems.
