Job Description

The Technical Solutions Administrator is accountable for supporting application administrative functions and serves as the main interface with business users for IT productivity and collaboration tools. Emphasis in this position is on customer service as the role is in constant contact with business users.  This role handles the daily inquires and service tickets from the business users who may be reporting incidents or requesting new functionality of the systems.  This role also configures various applications to business requirements. This role will provide recommendations for improvements on existing architecture, availability, reliability, performance, monitoring and security of the system including the application and server health.  This role will escalate any potential issues with the systems they see before they become a problem to solution architects and management.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for technical administration production support and configuration of various productivity and collaboration applications.

• Examples of key applications: JIRA, JIRA ServiceDesk, Confluence, Coverity, BrightIdea, HipChat, Perforce, Planview, ProjectPlace, Rally, QASymphony, Slack, Yammer.
• Provide application configuration recommendations and guide users in proper system setup where appropriate in config heavy applications like Planview and JIRA.  
• Implement enhancement configuration requests from users
• Plans, guides and coordinates special administrative projects and/or program activities
• Creates and maintains in Confluence documentation of key system admin functions, procedures, helpful information for users
• Communicate to users regarding system upgrades, changes, outages
• Supports end users with any questions
• Create / Manage users and groups
• Collaborate with IT Infrastructure team on changes to the environment that may impact users of the applications
• Identify and recommend version upgrades when appropriate
• When systems are upgraded to new version understand all critical new features and fixes
• Assist with Internal Audits
• Periodically assist with system testing
• Evaluate vendor products

Job Requirements


• Bachelors Degree Required (IT or Technical related field)

Required Experience:

• 5+ years in administering complex vendor software systems
• Experience collaborating on a high performing team
• Writing technical documentation
• Managing workload tasks in a software application (Examples: TFS, Jira, Rally, etc)

Preferred Experience:

• Jira or similar development tool administrator experience
• Planview or similar PPM tool administrator experience
• Database experience with some query writing skill
• O365, SharePoint
