Job Description

The responsibilities of this position match that of a Mechanical Engineering Technician.  A successful candidate will possess skills in set up, maintenance and repair of electrical, pneumatic and PLC driven technologies.
Essential Job Functions:
• Possesses ability operate normal shop equipment such as Drill press, band saw, welder, mill, lathe safely and effectively.
• Can design stations, tables, cabinets, enclosures and other manufacturing process components.
• Can build items from a set of plans or instruction.
• Works well in teams within department as well as groups consisting of all SG associates and external contractors.
• Is a self-starter and can figure out how to bring projects to completion.
• Always keeps the customer and ultimate customer as the center of all actions.
• Can read, understand, modify and write PLC logic.
• Can execute and record results of a validation plan for a process and pieces of equipment including IQ, OQ and PQ documents.
• Can determine a required PM schedule and program, including executing the documentation and physical steps involved to ensure all manufacturing equipment is in production quality performance at all times.
• Has skill set to keep up with current and future technologies and manufacturing practices and can recommend the best practices for SG.
• Has the ability to read and interoperate drawings and schematics.
• Maintains a neat, organized, and clean work area.
• Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results to resolve problems.
• Identify and implement process improvement solutions.
• Devise systems to enhance quality.
• Follow all safety guidelines and generate detailed reports.
• Quickly master new equipment.
• Perform general repairs.
• Assist new team members in performance initiatives and consistently exceed production goals.
• Be creative and find solutions for problems and manufacturing issues that seem un-solvable.

Job Requirements

Qualifications
• five years of experience in manufacturing environment
• One to three years technical experience
Education:
• High school graduate or its equivalent
• Technical certification preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Knowledge of basic electric and electronic principles
• Ability to read and understand work orders, blueprints, and schematics
• Solid computer skills, including comfort with Microsoft operating systems and products
• Must be able to effectively perform mechanical, pneumatic and electrical projects.
• Ability to operate handheld Digital Multi-Meter
• Ability to properly use basic hand and shop tools
• Gaming Registration required
• Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift from 5 to 50 pounds
