Job Description



Position Summary:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing the operation, support, configuration and maintenance of the Microsoft Windows Client/Server, Linux server, SQL Server and VMWare infrastructure used by Delaware SG operations.  

Job Responsibilities:
• Perform ongoing monitoring and maintenance of all servers in the operations environment.
• Perform upgrades and software patches as needed.
• Maintain server security and integrity including implementing backup solutions.
• Create and maintain documentation of environment and application configurations.
• Comply with and help to enforce standard operating policies and procedures.
• Support the IT needs of the organization’s employees and internal groups.
• First level of support in the event of a production issue.
• Individual will be involved with quality control testing of new server and application hardware and software.
• Identifies, troubleshoots, and escalates operational problems as they occur.
• Assist with planning and implementation of new projects.
• Creates and maintains operational procedures.
• Ability to work with all levels of management and communicate problems effectively and efficiently.
• Must be able to prioritize tasks as assigned.
• Must have a flexible work schedule and work weekends/nights as needed or assigned.
• Ability to fill in for absent staff members to support the operations department.
• Ability to work with operations and field staff to trouble shoot and resolve different situations.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements



Position Requirements/Qualifications:
• On Call 24/7 for operational support
• Bachelor’s of Science degree in computer science and/or 3 years of related work experience
• Working knowledge of MS Office products.  
• Strong written and oral communications skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL, TLS.
• Strong knowledge of computer software and hardware technologies (i.e., Microsoft Office Products, Linux, SQL Server, VMWare)

Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management
• Must have above-average organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to quickly learn and understand new technologies
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to lift 30 lbs
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, and stretch at a minimum of 50% of the time for any or all of the movements described.
