Job Description



Scientific Games is a global leader in providing customized, end-to-end gaming solutions to lottery and gaming organizations worldwide. Scientific Games’ integrated array of products and services include instant lottery games, lottery gaming systems, terminals and services, and Internet applications, as well as server-based interactive gaming machines.

Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents software changes to Lottery Point-of-Sale terminals and related products.  Provide support to Lottery production environments and to software testing personnel.   Is actively involved in the hiring and training of other embedded systems developers.

1. Design, code and debug software programs for Lottery terminals using Windows C/C++ programming techniques
2. Contribute to the gathering of requirements for proposed system modifications.
3. Participate in code reviews as needed
4. Assist in estimating, planning and scheduling projects.
5. Follow the ongoing process of source code development within SGI using version control tools and documenting work in anticipation of internal and third party audits.  
6. Participate as needed in the 24/7 support of production lottery systems.
7. Participate in the interviewing and hiring of new developers.  Take an active lead role in training new technical personnel.

Job Requirements



1. BS or MS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
2. 6+ years programming experience with C/C++, Visual C++, and C# .Net programming languages
3. Experience with POS terminal application development in MS Windows embedded XP  and Windows 7 as development platforms.
4. Experience in Windows Development with real-time, embedded systems programming (POSIX layer functions.  Thread and data synchronization using resource managers, IPC communications, hardware interfaces, semaphores and event methods.)
5. The following additional skills are a plus:  Socket programming, GUI development using MS WPF, Direct Draw or Open GL development, Windows CE development, Photoshop, C, Linux/Unix.
6. Possess valid papers and be available for occasional travel (10%), possibly on short notice, and possibly to foreign locations.
