Job Description



The Senior Manager of Employee Relations is responsible for managing a range of activities related to primarily employee relations with some labor relations across the company.  The successful candidate should be able to function on daily basis as both an individual contributor and senior manager with a lot of indirect supervisory responsibilities to guide and coach employees, managers and HR professionals.  This person will be required to frequently partner with Compliance, Human Resources and Legal to resolve important people-related matters.   

Essential Job Functions:

• Manages employee inquiries, questions and complaints in an objective and thorough manner that arise in the ordinary course of business.

• Interprets and explains human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations.

• Conducts formal investigations that typically follow a process of intake, discovery, assessment, review and recommended treatment including corrective action.

• Tracks and analyzes employee relations trends with a focus on reporting insights to HR leadership for purposes of continual improvement.

• Partners with Legal and HR on labor relations which may include union management and aspects of collective bargaining.

• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning employment
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements



Qualification

Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• Legal education, Human Resources Certification or Project Management Certification a plus

Required Experience:
• 10 years total experience in Human Resources with at least 5 of the 10 years in Employee Relations.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Good working knowledge of federal, state and local laws regarding employment practices including FMLA, COBRA, HIPPA and ADA and EEOC regulations.
• Great interpersonal skills including effective written and verbal communication.
• Demonstrated influencing skills in dealing with all levels of employees and management.
• Ability to partner well with stakeholders across business units and functions.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities, work under pressure within established time constraints, meet deadlines and objectives, and proactively take a customer service approach to activities
• Possess a team-oriented approach and the desire to help in other Human Resource areas as required
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
