Job Description

Key hands-on accounting position the Scientific Games Finance function.  Position provides financial data and support to internal finance management, business unit operations management, and remote site managers for the U.S. Lottery Systems business segment.

• Perform monthly financial close activities, including journal entry preparation and Hyperion trial balance validation/uploading, for the U.S. Lottery Systems and North America Gaming business segments.
• Perform wide range of accounting functions and oversight for SG-Puerto Rico
• Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Assist with preparing and maintaining monthly corporate reporting packages
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of specified general ledger accounts/trial balance (Balance Sheet and P&L)
• Perform variance and trend analysis
• Provide monthly financial reports by contract (actual vs. budget) to various department heads
• Active role in the preparation of internal and external reporting
• Assist with audit requests/assignments (D&T, SOX, Internal)
• Special projects as deemed necessary by senior management

Job Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting
• 3-5 years of staff to senior-level accounting experience
• Above-average communication and organizational skills; high commitment to punctuality and accuracy.
• Solid knowledge of accounting; ability to think through and formulate “debits and credits” for journal entry preparation in straight-forward to semi-complex situations
• Intermediate-level (or better) skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
• Hands-on user experience with mainstream financial information systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, etc.)
• Experience with Blackline account reconciliation software is a significant plus
• MBA and/or CPA, or desire to pursue
