Job Description

The Lead Engineer's role is to coach & mentor engineering staff to their highest possible engineering potential. Working within the Game Development Kit (GDK) organization, you will be leading a team responsible for delivering platform features to studio teams, supporting dozens of worldwide game title releases per year. In this role, you will be responsible for the team's ability to deliver high quality, high value solutions to stakeholders through strong technical leadership, working closely with project management roles to ensure alignment with department and company priorities.


• Accountable for team’s ability to deliver high quality, high value software solutions
• Develop technical and professional skills of team to enable career growth
• Provide expertise on design and implementation choices through technical review processes
• Support output of team through hands-on development as needed
• Provide technical analysis, estimation, and status on team projects
• Conduct supervisory duties for direct reports, including performance management, appraisal, personnel decisions, and other administrative tasks

Job Requirements

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in professional software development, primarily using C# or C++
• Minimum 2 years of experience managing a software development team, or equivalent experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience:

• Game development or other creative product development experience
• Proven results building strong teams and leading developers through high quality projects
• Unity or other game engine experience
• Application of object oriented design patterns and library development
• Preferred languages: C#, C++, Python
• Agile or lean software development experience
• Windows, Visual Studio
• JIRA, Confluence, Perforce
• Excellent communication skills
