We currently have a rare opportunity for a Lead Engineer based in Auckland within our Systems Department. This department support and maintain roughly 30 products that are used in Casinos and pubs and clubs. In this position you will assist in software development, testing, implementation, troubleshoot, and support of SG software products and applications. The role entitles to interact with various customers, support, and train them on various software products

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develop/Implement software solutions by studying information needs; conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, following the software development lifecycle
- Analyse information, general programming skills, software design, software debugging, software documentation, software testing, problem solving, teamwork, software development fundamentals, software development process, software requirements
- Functions as a SG representative and develops and ensures positive customer relations and professional service support for systems and products supported
- Develops and maintains current knowledge of SG’s business capabilities, products and services
- Support casino applications and ensure timely solutions are provided in a 24/7 business model
- Periodically suggest operational efficient practices for existing scenarios within SG applications
- Implement new modifications in a 24/7 business environment across ANZ locations
- Must be willing to travel (50%)

Job Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

- 7+ years professional experience in a software development team and implementation
- 7+ years’ experience with build automation, continuous integration, unit test, change management and configuration management
- Specialised in .Net technologies, Asp.Net, .Net C#, .Net Smart Device and Java
- Knowledge of Gaming machine protocols like ASP 2000b, X-series, QCOM, SAS, ASP 5000, and GRIPS
- Experience with either software engineering/embedded software/computer/electrical engineer experience with software exposure
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably BSEE, BSCE, BSEET, or BSCS or BCA equivalent work experience
- Strong awareness of gaming industry trends
- Self-directed, highly motivated, thorough and accurate, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Capable of coordinating efforts with members of a cross-functional team
