Job Description


Position Summary:
The Field Service Technician I is responsible for the completion of assigned service calls at lottery retailer locations.  These include scheduled calls (installs, removals, and preventative maintenance I (PM”s) and unscheduled calls (service and supplies as initiated by the retailer).  This position will also be responsible for troubleshooting all communication problems over the telephone and/or traveling to customer locations for repair, install, preventative maintenance, and removal of terminal and communications equipment.  This position will average approximately 6 – 10 detailed activities per day depending upon local area need, responsibility, and service order type.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
1. Performs extensive field repair functions including installs, removing terminals, communications equipment and peripheral procedures, with little or no supervision.
2. Performs problem diagnosis for scheduled and unscheduled service calls.  Ability to travel to customer sites for repair.
3. Performs vehicle management functions as set by guidelines.
4. Ability to operate a smart services phone.
5. Ability to work with NRC to ensure timeliness to retail locations and understanding problem at each assigned service location
6. Records service call information, logs and reports data communication problems to management and communicates recommendations on customer’s equipment.
7. Follow through on customer issues that require additional support or are above the scope of own abilities.
8. Ability to troubleshoot all forms of communications within a retailer location, including but not limited to, VSAT, DSL, and CDMA technologies.
9. Provide necessary information and updates on an ongoing basis to management regarding the resolution of software and hardware problems.
10. Performs routing maintenance on company vehicles.
11. Maintains an acceptable driving record in accordance with the motor vehicle policy.
12. Maintains an acceptable level of customer service.
13. All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

/Skills & Abilities:

1. A High School diploma
2. Thorough understanding of all areas of computer software and hardware technologies.
3. Ability to compile and analyze statistical information relating to field service efficiency, as it relates to lottery terminals.
4. Ability to quickly learn and understand new technologies.
5. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
6. Excellent customer service skills.
7. Ability to maintain positive working relationships.
8. Ability to work overtime
9. Ability to work on roof tops at retailer locations
10. Ability to work holidays and weekends
11. Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs.
12. Ability to push, pulls, and maneuvers heavy equipment in excess of 500 pounds.
13. Ability to climb onto or off a ladder.
