Job Description



Position Summary:
The Assistant Systems Support Manager oversees the on-site technical support to the Data Center and the Lottery for all on-line software, file systems and database applications relating to the AEGIS-EF System.  In conjunction with corporate support, works to develop the requirements for software enhancements, defines the details of required software enhancements and corrections then plans for testing and implementation of software releases.

Job Functions:
• Ability to direct the Systems Support Team.
• Ability to fill in for roles of the Systems team for system support/testing/processing.
• Ability to interface with Operations department to keep test and production systems in sync and at top performance at all times.
• Ability to interface and create reports for the Lottery to resolve day-to-day software processing issues.
• Ability to arrange for and manage user acceptance testing of new and/or improved software.
• Plan for and conduct testing and implementation of software releases.
• Coordinate troubleshooting support when required.
• Ability to gather and author technical specification requirements for new software.
• Ability to implement game projects.
• Ability to schedule software releases.
• Ability to create and maintain a work schedule for all UAT employees.
• Maintains the timecards of the systems employees through applicable timecard system.
• Ability to manage the systems staff the hiring, discipline, and termination of employees.
• First level of support in the event of an operational issue.
• Identify, trouble shoot, and escalate operational problems as they occur.
• Create and maintain operational procedures.
• Ability to work with all levels of management and communicate problems effectively and efficiently
• Ability to coordinate user acceptance testing in conjunction with the Operation and Systems Manager.
• Ability to evaluate software change requests.
• Ability to maintain ClearQuest database of software change requests utilizing the RFC process.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



Position Requirements/Qualifications:
• On call 24/7 for systems support
• Associates Degree and 3+ years of technical management experience or commensurate work experience.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Unix operating systems
• Working knowledge of SQL and SQL Server
• Expert knowledge in MS Office applications
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate technical topics to all levels of employees and customers
• Requires strong computer skills and proficiency in computer server level hardware and operating systems
• Strong organizational skills
• Project management capabilities

Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to operate office equipment
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to lift 30 pounds
• Ability to stand, bend and stretch 50% of the time
