Job Description



Job Summary:
The person in this position develops standards and guidelines for testing projects and functions as a source of knowledge for all quality assurance personnel.  Duties include assisting the quality assurance manager with the supervision of assignments given to the quality assurance group to ensure projects maintain a satisfactory level of quality, that projects function efficiently, and that projects operate in accordance with established procedures

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Analyzes functional specifications and/or any documentation that exists for the project assignment
• Schedules meetings with technical, development and/or users departments as necessary to obtain clarification on project scope to ensure a successful project implementation
• Performs full cycle quality assurance activities including process reviews, developmental stage reviews, product audits, tracking corrective action reports, and trend analyses (metrics)
• Assist quality assurance manager with evaluating and approving the work of quality assurance analysts
• Contributes to the development of test methodologies and standards for functional, integration, performance, and regression testing
• Optimizes testing efforts through the use of software testing aids (automated software)
• Participates in the development of project plans
• Performs administrative functions as necessary to support individual project assignments and reporting
• Reviews relevant QA literature and attends personal development seminars, as project schedule permits

Job Requirements



Qualification Requirements:

Training and/or Experience:
• Minimum of three years of software testing experience
• Gaming industry experience preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical journals and documents
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and oral, and the ability to build consensus in situations where opinions and levels of understanding can be widely diverse
• Self-motivated, independent thinker with high degree of initiative
• Excellent broad-based technology skills covering multiple development and technology environments (e.g. AS/400, Windows, client/server, web-based technologies)
• Basic knowledge of networking principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Good knowledge on the use/working of automated testing tools
• Familiarity with internet-related technologies helpful (HTML, XML, Java, etc.)
• Some travel may be required

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience

Working Conditions:
• The work conditions are representative and typical of similar jobs in comparable organizations
• Some travel required
