Job Description



The Accounts Payable Supervisor will lead the AP team, are heavily hands on and will demonstrate the ability to lead, plan, and schedule and coordinate day-to-day activities. As a key partner in the financial shared services team, the position requires strong supervisory skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, as well as exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills. This position develops, implements, and maintains accounting procedures that ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor payable transactions in a high volume multi entity environment. Additionally, this position will interface with upper level managers in support of related financial reporting and analysis.

Job Functions:  
• Plan and direct performance of AP staff members as assigned: Motivate employees, assist in goal setting, provide development opportunities and performance feedback, address complaints and resolve problems.
• Supervise the AP function and team, by recommending improvements and instituting          streamlined procedures.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external legislation/regulations.
• Document work flows, processes and procedures for various business cycles across the finance and accounting group.
• Produce training guides and SOP/DOP documents.
• Serve as the main process owner for functions within accounting ensuring compliance with SOX controls.
• Support the Audit manager with financial audit inquiries as needed.
• Serve as functional owner on process improvement projects, including upgrades and enhancements to software and systems.
• Managing full cycle AP process (including interacting with internal and external AP partners and suppliers).
• Perform personnel actions and oversees day-to-day AP operations.
• Enforce compliance to procedures.
• Posting accounts payable invoices as well as preparing accounts payable register and related reports.
• Create and update AP metrics and reports on a periodic basis.
• Lead project implementations and AP initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



Qualifications:
Minimum five years of Accounts Payable experience

Education: Bachelor Degree preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• Advanced knowledge of standard accounts payable policies and procedures
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work well under deadline pressure
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and initiate administrative support needs of management and other staff
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
• Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office required
• Knowledge of document imaging systems
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
